Tertius is an energetic and versatile South African singer-songwriter who entertains audiences with his infectious stage presence and genuine passion for music.
After completing his school career, Tertius studied sound engineering, gaining valuable knowledge of the technical and practical aspects of music production and sound recording.
His music career gained significant momentum in 2007 when he won a Rapport competition and had the opportunity to perform alongside well-known artists such as Steve Hofmeyr and The Campbells. He also made history as the very first winner of Klipdrift Idols at Carnival City.
These achievements inspired Tertius to pursue his passion for music professionally. For him, music is not only about entertainment—it is also about the joy, hope and positive change it can bring to people’s lives.
Tertius is not only a talented singer but also a gifted songwriter. He wrote 12 of the 13 tracks on his Nou en Nooit demo album. Shortly after their release, the singles Oh Oh Oh (Vir My en Jou) and Bly by My achieved top positions on several local radio stations, while the music video for Bly by My received regular airplay on kykNET.
All 21 tracks on his album Verslaaf aan Jou were written by Tertius himself. He was also responsible for the arrangements and melodic compositions, further showcasing his creativity and versatility as a musician.
Over the years, Tertius has performed at numerous festivals, functions and entertainment venues across South Africa. His appearances include well-known events and stages such as the KKNK, Aardklop, Jakaranda Festival, Tekkiefees, Varkfees, Lichtenburg Festival and Windpomp Festival, as well as the Rapport, Huisgenoot, RSG, Die Burger, ATKV, Klipdrift and Beeld stages.
With his energetic performances and a musical style that incorporates pop, dance and rock, Tertius entertains audiences of all ages. His natural stage presence, original music and ability to connect with his audience make every performance a memorable experience.
